The Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre Society (CFEC) is a non-profit society governed by a Board of Directors. The society was incorporated in 1988 and has served families and individuals in the South Cariboo continuously since that time.
Today, the CFEC provides a wide range of services for families and individuals of all ages. The organization’s main location is host to the South Cariboo Early Years Centre, Family Services, and youth counselling/outreach.
The CFEC also manages two satellite locations: The Early Care and Learning Centre (a daycare and early learning centre combination) and the Youth Zone/Y.E.S. (Youth Employment Services) building. The Early Care and Learning Centre offers full-time care, part-time care, and drop-in care for children ages 0-12. Preschool and After-Schooler programs are also available.
The Youth Zone is a social place where local youth (ages 12-18) can meet, eat, be active, and be impacted in a positive way. It is an after-school program that provides access to healthy eating, community volunteering opportunities, and referral for counselling or other services. Upstairs from the Youth Zone is the Youth Employment Services (YES) space. Youth ages 16-30 can apply for enrollment in a 6-week course where they can learn the skills to become and remain employed.
